A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: Crews are currently dealing with a large incident in the Longton area of Stoke-on-Trent, we are advising all local residents to keep doors and windows closed.

Fire coming from Motor Clinic says firefighters
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: Fire fighters were called at 4.32pm on Tuesday 1 June to the Motor Clinic on Trentham Road in Longton. A total of five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform are in attendance. Crews from Hanley, Newcastle, two from Longton and one from Sandyford are present at the scene, conducting active fire-fighting.

Police are investigating after arsonists set fire to grass in Stoke-on-Trent.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on land off Dividy Road, Bentilee, shortly before 7.20pm yesterday (May 31).
The fire was put out using hose reel jets - with the fire service saying they believe it started deliberately.

Father-of-two Melvyn Macdonald is demanding action to tackle the anti-social people living nearby.
The 49-year-old claims there are two properties in the neighbourhood plagued by people high on monkey dust, who regularly smash glass and start fires.
Fed-up Melvyn says he has been reporting the problems at Goms Mill Road, in Longton, since he moved there in August 2019.
