An additional 57 local coronavirus infections were reported by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning, most in the epicenter Bac Giang Province.
Bac Giang, where the virus is wreaking havoc among industrial parks, recorded 45 domestic cases, the health ministry said in a report.
Its neighbor, Bac Ninh, which is also a hub of industrial parks, logged two patients, Hanoi four, Lang Son Province four, and Ha Nam Province two.
All of the places are located in the northern part of the country.

Customs officers have uncovered a great amount of fake goods and narcotics hidden in more than 90 cargo containers in transit in Vietnam.
Customs inspectors nationwide detected a lot of counterfeit items and drugs concealed in 91 out of the 132 in-transit containers of goods during their weeklong inspections in July last year, the Ministry of Finance reported.
These 132 containers accounted for about 20 percent of the total number of in-transit cargo containers during the inspection period.
Of the 91 containers in question, 35 contained counterfeit goods of famous brands and the rest were flagged for undeclared or falsely declared commodities.

The Ministry of Health announced two COVID-19 infections on Monday morning, both imported from India.
The two Indian patients entered Vietnam on April 24 and was sent to quarantine upon landing, the health ministry said in a morning report.
They tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday, it added, without elaborating.
Vietnam has closed its borders to international arrivals since March last year but it still grants entry to foreign experts, skilled workers, diplomats, and Vietnamese repatriates.

A HCMC man is among 30 new Covid-19 patients recorded in Vietnam Wednesday morning, raising the nation s infection tally in the new coronavirus wave to 1,503.
The northern province of Bac Ninh recorded 16 cases who are linked to two hotspots and have been isolated.
Its neighbor Bac Giang Province recorded 10 cases, with nine linked to the cluster at Van Trung Industrial Park in Viet Yen District and the other having had contact with a Covid-19 patient.
