Lagos, Dec. 19, 2020 Sen. Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District on Saturday congratulated Sen. Oluremi Tinubu on the conferment of an honorary doctorate degree in Public Administration by the Lagos State University (LASU).
Abiru, in a congratulatory message, commended Tinubu’s uncommon passion for the youth and of the girl-child.
“This is one of the several honours you have received in recognition of your unequalled dedication to public service and in particular gender-related issues, which have been central to your political advocacy.
“You are an astute administrator and a major voice for the vulnerable members of our society.
Also, the congress passed a vote of confidence on Shodipe; Mr Gani Taofeeq, State Publicity Secretary and Mr Nurudeen Adewale, State Ex-Officio which the embattled Chairman said were suspended during the week.
Other PDP State Executive members at the briefing included Chief Taiwo Kuye, PDP South-West Caretaker Member; Alhaji Segun Sowole, the PDP Vice Chairman Lagos Central and Mr Tejumade Muyideen, PDP Legal Adviser.
They said Doherty has not been transparent in the management of the party’s affairs.
But Doherty, in a swift reaction, dismissed the move as a charade, insisting that he remained the state chairman as only the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) can suspend him.

The crisis in the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gets messier on Friday following the announcement of the suspension of the party chairman, Mr Adedeji Doherty, by some members of the executive who were themselves suspended a few days ago and those who were called party stakeholders.
It will be recalled that on Wednesday, the State Executive Committee of the party suspended three of its executive members including the Secretary, Mr Muiz Shodipe; the Publicity Secretary, Mr Taofik Gani and Ex-Officio member, Mr Nurudeen Adewale.
However, some people who called themselves party stakeholders including the suspended executive members announced the suspension of Doherty on Friday after what they called an emergency meeting, saying that Doherty lacked transparency in the management and accountability of the party finances and administration.
