LAHORE: Umar Sheikh was removed from the post of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore by the Punjab government on Friday.
He was replaced with Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, who was previously serving as DIG Technical Procurement, Punjab Central Police Office. His transfer reportedly took place upon a request, made to the prime minister by the Punjab chief minister.
A notification issued by the Punjab Services and General Administration Department stated that Muhammad Umar Sheikh (PSP/BS-20), Lahore Capital City Police Officer (in his own pay and scale) is hereby transferred with immediate effect and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police/Deputy Commandant, Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad against a vacant post.

The Punjab government on Friday removed Umar Sheikh from the post of Lahore Capital City Police Officer, according to a government notification.
Sheikh has been replaced with Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, who has served as a police officer for 27 years, including as the Lahore DIG operations and Lahore chief traffic officer.
A notification issued by the Punjab Services and General Administration Department and signed by the chief secretary, stated: Muhammad Umar Sheikh (PSP/BS-20), Lahore Capital City Police Officer (in his own pay and scale) is hereby transferred with immediate effect and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police/Deputy Commandant, Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad against a vacant post.

The Punjab government removed on Friday DIG Umar Sheikh from the post of capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore months after he was appointed on the position following much controversy.
The police officer s transfer was authorised by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. He has now been posted as deputy commandment Punjab constabulary.
Senior police officer Ghulam Mohammad Dogar has been appointed as the new CCPO Lahore.
Sheikh s appointment as Lahore s chief police officer came on September 8. However, soon after his selection was authorised, then Inspector General Punjab (IGP) Shoaib Dastgir was removed from his post by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government after he refused to work with Umar Sheikh.

PSP cadre officer Umar Sheikh has been replaced with PSP officer Ghulam Mehmood Dogar who had been DIG Operations in Lahore and also served provincial capital of Punjab as its chief traffic officer.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Umar Sheikh has on Friday been removed with immediate effect as the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) after increase in crime rate in the provincial capital.
According to details, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has been appointed as the new Lahore CCPO after being interviewed at the Chief Minister’s Office. Dogar earlier served as Faisalabad RPO and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Technical Procurement.
Former Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh, a controversial officer who faced heavy criticism for his inappropriate remarks regarding a rape victim, has been appointed as Deputy Commandant of the Punjab Constabulary, Farooqabad against a vacant post.
