According to the New Mexico Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard, as of February 15th, Grant County has partially or fully vaccinated a total of 20.9% of its population and ranks 16th highest out of state’s 33 counties. In addition, Luna County has fully or partially vaccinated a total 16.3% of its population, Hidalgo County for a total of 17.5% and Catron County for a total of 24.4%. At this time 621,173 New Mexico residents have registered to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Statewide, a total of 300,913 primary doses have been administered along with 136,990 booster doses.
More is better, CDC says in offering new guidance on anti-COVID-19 mask wearing

LOS ANGELES – The question of the hour came from an unlikely source: a bright-eyed 6-year-old in a My Little Pony face covering.
“Why are you wearing two masks?” asked Kennedy Anne Coen, who was hunkered down Wednesday morning in her mom’s Torrance coffee shop, where a corner had been turned into a coronavirus-era classroom. “I’m only wearing one. My mom has one face shield and one mask.”
Why, indeed. That’s actually a better query for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. After weeks of tiptoeing around the issue, the agency announced Wednesday that two masks are better than one for protecting wearers from the coronavirus and its various frightening mutations.

AUGIE’S MONTREAL DELI Reopened Jan. 13 in the former Brennan’s space is Augie’s Montreal Deli, purveyor of poutine, “smoke meat,” Fin du Monde and all good things French-Canadian just ask the grateful Quebecois in line. Fans of the nearly three-year-old deli may not be able to gather in the new dining room to watch ice hockey just yet, but the location, already a well-loved space in the Berkeley community, is a bit more foot-traffic-friendly for takeout than the old spot on Potter Street.
