Published February 8, 2021 2:06pm A former policeman included in the most wanted list was arrested in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Sunday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday. In a statement, the PNP said Anecio Lapara Jr. was arrested in a joint operation conducted by several police units and offices of different regions along Lapaz Street in Barangay 1 Poblacion. Lapara is facing three separate criminal cases for robbery and illegal possession of firearms. He escaped from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Ormoc City while awaiting his trial. The former cop is also included in the National Most Wanted Person with Reward list, according to the PNP.
February 04, 2021 THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South has collaborated with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) and La Carlota City Government for the implementation of the sugarcane-rice cropping system (SRCS) project in Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City.
The land being tilled by members of Hacienda Esperanza Communal Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (Hecarba) was identified as one of the additional sites of the project in the province.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I Enrique Paderes, during the launching of the project on Wednesday, February 3, said the project is seen to directly benefit 30 members of the association.

The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), in its February 1, 2021 Prevailing Market Price of Livestock and Poultry Monitoring, reported a P21.27 per kilo increase in the average price of dressed broiler chicken.
From P159.35 per kilo two weeks ago, it went up to P180.62 per kilo this week.
