Christina Gagnon scored five goals to go with three assists, Frannie Hahn and Kendall Steer had three goals apiece and Caitlin McElwee added two goals. Josie Hahn and Lauren Steer each had two assists. St. Paul’s jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Leah Warehime made four saves. It’s the first regular-season defeat of McDonogh by an IAAM team since 2008. The Gators then beat Bryn Mawr (Md.) 15-10 on Saturday. Gagnon and McElwee had three goals and one assist apiece, and Lauren Steer, Josie Hahn and Frannie Hahn all contributed two goals apiece, with Lauren Steer adding two assists. Warehime made eight saves.

For the first time in a long time, lacrosse is back across the entire country. That will lead to shakeups in the future, but for now, the top of Nike / US Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 remains largely unchanged. The only notable change is that St. Paul’s (Md.) has entered the top 10 at No. 9 after a 2-0 week. St. Paul’s plays McDonogh on Wednesday in a key in-state matchup.

Jesal Patel Wins Election, Becomes President of Village of Lincolnwood, Ill

Indian American realtor Jesal Patel April 6 was the candidate voters felt best suited the citizens of the village of Lincolnwood, Illinois, electing him to the presidential post. Patel, a trustee of the Lincolnwood Alliance Party, beat out fellow trustee Independent Georjean Hlepas Nickell, by roughly 2.5 points, according to Cook County Clerk officials. The Indian American received 1,268 to Nickell’s 1,201 for 51.36 percent to 48.64 percent, the results showed. Patel has lived in Lincolnwood since he was just 4 years old, and resides at the same address today as when he moved here nearly 40 years ago, according to his bio. Patel attended the district 74 schools and grew up working as a caddy at the Bryn Mawr Country Club. He attended Loyola Academy for high school and is a graduate of Indiana University’s business school with a bachelor of science degree in finance-real estate.
