Lobos Take On Bruin Wave Invite Monday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The University of New Mexico women’s golf team is back on the road, this time taking on the Bruin Wave invitational hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine in Somis, Calif. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will tee off Monday at 8 a.m. PT (9 a.m. MT) and continue through Wednesday. The Lobos will compete at The Saticoy Club, a 6,273-yard, par-72 course and will be joined by 14 squads. New Mexico will see a pair of Mountain West teams in Colorado State and San Diego State, both of which the Lobos have seen once before this season. SDSU finished just one spot ahead of the Lobos at the Lamkin Invitational while UNM finished five places ahead of the Rams at the Rebel Beach Invitational.

UCLA Co-Hosts Bruin Wave Invitational

SOMIS, Calif. - UCLA travels to The Saticoy Club this week for the Bruin Wave Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played Monday through Wednesday at the par-72, 6,273-yard layout. The starting lineup for the Bruins will be junior Simar Singh and sophomores Emilie Paltrinieri, Emma Spitz, Annabel Wilson and Yuki Yoshihara. Junior Phoebe Yue will be playing as an individual. Live scoring will be available here. UCLA opens the tournament on Monday at 8 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Yoshihara, Singh, Paltrinieri, Wilson and Spitz. Yue will start her round on No. 10 at 8:55 a.m.

SEATTLE – The University of Washington men s golf team heads down south to take part in the three-day Gators Invitational. The 21-team field will play 18 holes each day at the par-70, 6,701 yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville from Friday-Sunday, Feb. 12-14. Competing in the event include nine teams ranked in the latest GolfWeek Top 25.   THE FIELD (GolfWeek Rankings): No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Georgia, No. 11 Arkansas, No. 14 Auburn, No. 16 Alabama, No. 19 South Carolina, No. 22 Florida, No. 23 North Florida, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Liberty, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Penn State, UCF, South Florida, West Virginia and Washington. THE LINEUP: The Huskies will play senior Noah Woolsey, freshman Teddy Lin, senior Henry Lee, senior Jan Schneider and freshman Taehoon Song.

Lertsadwattana Fourth; Lobos Open Season with Sixth-Place Finish

Lertsadwattana registered a career-best fourth-place finish on the week. She shot a 73 in round one and shaved three strokes off in round two (70, -2), which she squeezed in just before dark on Monday night. In Tuesday’s third round, she shot a 76 for a three-round total of 219 (+3). She finished just five strokes behind the tournament’s winner and four strokes out of a tie for second place. USC clamed the crown Tuesday finishing +16 while its own Allisen Corpuz took the individual title with a final score of 214 (-2). TCU, which entered the tournament ranked No. 22 in the nation, finished tied for second with UCLA (904, +40), followed by Colorado and San Diego State which tied for fourth with a score of 910 (+46).
