FirstBank & Trust of Texas today announced the retirement of CEO Barry Orr, effective March 31, 2021. Mr. Orr is the organizer and founder of FirstBank & Trust, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year.
FirstBank & Trust, originally named FirstBank Lubbock Bancshares, opened in 1996 with $10 million in assets. By building relationships and serving the communities of West Texas, Mr. Orr led the growth of the bank to over $1 billion in assets before it was acquired by Heartland Financial, USA, Inc. (NASDAQ: HTLF) in 2018. After acquiring AimBank in December 2020, FirstBank & Trust has over $3 billion in assets and is the largest of Heartland’s 11 member banks.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Itâs been 13 years and the annual Santa Cops tradition still stands strong for the Lubbock Police Department and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock.
The event was made possible by community partners that made toy, monetary, or food contributions like Main Event, Great Clips, Lubbock National Bank and more.
Lubbock National Bank bought toys and items for each child. United donated food boxes for each family and had a drive to collect socks and underwear. Happy State Bank donated gloves and hats. Main Event donated game passes for the families, and Great Clips donated gift cards, and every child got a bicycle, provided by Yates Flooring Center.
