Attorneys for the state and defense worked into the night at a makeshift courtroom at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center as they narrowed down a pool of 79 potential jurors into a panel of 12 with at least two alternates.
By late Monday, attorneys were in the process of individually interviewing 55 people who said they couldn t be an impartial juror because of the nature of the case.
Joe Salinas, 42, is charged with a first-degree felony count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, which carries a punishment of five years to life in prison.
Details of the case against Salinas were not provided to the potential jurors during jury selection process.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A bank that loaned millions to Bart Reagor and his bankrupt auto group is now garnishing his bank accounts.
International Bank of Commerce is asking a Lubbock County Court to collect more than $23 million from four banks. Itâs filed against Bart Reagorâs accounts at Lubbock National Bank, AIM Bank, Wells Fargo and Prosperity bank.
In the request, IBC cited an April 2020 judgment against financial portions of the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group and Bart Reagor.

LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) - Lubbock ISD District 3 Trustee Ben Webb has announced his resignation from the Board of Trustees in a letter to fellow board members, effective February 28, 2021. Lubbock County Commissioners appointed Webb Judge for Lubbock County Court at Law No. 3, requiring his resignation from the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees.
Webb has practiced law in Lubbock for more than 15 years. He and wife Karen have two children, and are active in the PTAs at Hutchinson Middle School and Lubbock High School where their children attend school. Webb is also a former board member of the Lubbock ISD Foundation for Excellence.

Ann-Marie Carruth has been appointed as Judge of the 72nd Judicial District Court in Lubbock and Crosby Counties.
Governor Greg Abbott made the appointment on Monday. Carruth’s term will expire on Dec. 31, 2022 or until her successor has been elected and qualified for the position.
Carruth currently serves as the Judge of the Lubbock County Court at Law #3. She previously served as Lubbock County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4. She’s a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Lubbock Area Bar Association and is an honorary lifetime member of the West Texas Justices of the Peace & Constables Association.

Ann-Marie Carruth of Lubbock is Judge of Lubbock County Court at Law #3, and previously served as Lubbock County Justice of the Peace Precinct #4.
