To get things rolling, LLDC has awarded architects 5th Studio a £300,000 contract to come up with ideas to secure the station s long-term future. Stratford Station s connection to the town centre and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park forms part of the focus of the transport hub s revamp, with ways of making the station more accessible and passenger-friendly also being considered.

MSG s Las Vegas Sphere roof work reaches halfway point

MSG’s Las Vegas Sphere roof work reaches halfway point Roof construction at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas has reached the halfway point. The frame s 32 steel trusses have now been installed and work has begun on the southern hemisphere of the frame. Around 600 construction workers are currently working on the project, with the first truss installed in March. The trusses weigh more than 100t each and measure around 60m. The total weighs more than 13,000t, and the trusses are welded and bolted together at the site due to their size. The sphere s domed roof will create a column-free, interior bowl, which will house a14,800m² display plane. MSG Entertainment vice president of construction Nick Tomasino has said the feature is the result of expert design, engineering and construction planning .
