Dubai s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Wednesday urged commuters to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to account for delays that might arise out of Covid-related restrictions at Dubai Metro stations.

Owners of yachts and cruise boats in Dubai may now rent the jetties of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for 30 minutes, an hour, or a day from 6am to 11pm.
Available at 28 berths across Dubai, the RTA’s new marine jetty short rental service is offered to all boat owners and operators, whether individuals or companies. The service, however, does not include an overnight use of the berth. Rental applications can be submitted via e-mail (rent.jetty@rta.ae), and an RTA team member will be providing the rest of the details.

More than 11,000 Dubai cabs will soon have smart billboards on their roofs, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Tuesday.
These taxi-top billboards will be displaying not only advertisements but also informative content about events and activities around the city. Since they are ‘smart’, displays change automatically, depending on the target viewers at the vehicle’s location, explained Khalid Al Awadi, director of transportation systems at the Public Transport Agency of the RTA.
So far, one hundred billboards have already been installed on the fleet of the National Taxi company in the initial phase of the project roll-out.

Yallacompare study declares data based on customer nationality.
The UAE roads became safer in 2020 and Pakistani drivers were declared to have been involved in the least number of accidents, revealed the findings of Yallacompare’s insurance comparison platform.
Examining the data by customer nationality revealed that Pakistani drivers were found to be the best drivers with just 2.5 per cent of them having made a claim in the past 12 months.
This was way ahead of the second-placed country – 3.2 per cent of customers made claims in the last 12 months. Second, third, fourth and fifth places were taken by Lebanese, Filipinos, Syrians, and Jordanians respectively.
