RAWALPINDI: Around 266,077 people, including 22,034 health workers and 244,043 senior citizens, have got their jabs against coronavirus at 22 centers across the district since the vaccination administering drive launched in the first week of March.
An official of the district administration informed APP that around 3,145 people had been inoculated the vaccine at the Texila Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ), 694 at Murree THQ, 1,248 at Kahuta THQ, 2,982 at Gujar Khan THQ, 471 at Kotli Sattian THQ, 1,420 at Kallar Saydan THQ, 9,637 at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, 4,707 at the Holy Family Hospital, 2,758 at the district headquarters hospital, 7,689 at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 488 at Government TB Sanatorium Samli, 6,830 at the Wah General Hospital, 70,206 at Shahbaz Sharif Complex, 16,381 at the Taxila Tehsil Office (TO), 9,374 at the Kallar Syedan TO, 21,663 at the Gujar Khan (TO), 1,312 at the Kotli Sattiyan (TO), 2,899 at the Murree (TO), 5
ISLAMABAD: The federal capital and the district of Rawalpindi on Sunday reported less than five per cent positivity rate and there was also no death reported from Covid-19.
In Islamabad, 156 people tested positive out of 3,761 tests with the positivity rate standing at 4.9 per cent against 3.98pc on Saturday.
With 70 new cases, the positivity rate further declined to 4.1pc in the Rawalpindi district against 6.9pc on Saturday. An official of the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS), requesting not to be quoted, said though the cases and positivity had reduced, opening of different sectors would be a major challenge.

KARACHI: As Punjab saw declining cases of the coronavirus, the situation in Sindh was becoming more precarious, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who warned on Sunday that hospitals were rapidly approaching capacity, with some of them completely full.
In a media briefing, Shah described how infections spiked in the province during the extended Eid holidays, which aimed to reduce the precaution-averse public’s mobility to reduce the momentum of the third wave of Covid-19. The province’s test positivity ratio was above 8 per cent.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday said that 156 new cases of coronavirus were reported from the federal capital during the last 24 hours.
According to an official of NCOC, as many as 146 cases were reported on Saturday while 221 cases were reported on Friday. He said so far 80,312 cases while 745 deaths were reported from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), adding that 71,939 patients have recovered from the deadly virus.

The Punjab government has released an outstanding amount of Rs120 million for the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and Kidney Transplant (RIUKT) to carry out remaining civil work and procuring necessary electro-medical equipment for treating kidney patients, a spokesperson said on Sunday.
In this regard, a letter of credit (LC) for the purchase of a modern 128-Slice CT scanner worth Rs110 million has been opened while an imported Rs70 million lithotripsy machine, for breaking stones through radiations, would be installed at the facility soon, they added.
