A Concord High School teacher was arrested Thursday after police say he solicited sexual activity from a minor in exchange for money, and obtained images depicting child sexual abuse.
Joshua Harwood, 36, of Manchester, who taught business at Concord High School, was arrested by Concord Police on several charges, including prostitution involving a child under the age of 18, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of prostitution/solicitation to commit sexual contact. He has also been charged with two counts of manufacturing child sexual abuse images, and possession of child sexual abuse images.

Local activist organization Change for Concord is planning four days of virtual events this week, intended to spotlight racial justice issues in the Concord community and school district.
“We wanted to host an event involving students to address issues surrounding the school district, as well as take actions to make positive changes in the schools, said Change for Concord leader Lidia Yen. “So we decided to have a week of action where students, parents and community members can participate as well as learn about these issues.”

A former New Hampshire police chief who has spoken out publicly in support of victim rights has been selected as the next independent compliance overseer for St. Paul’s School in Concord.
Donald Sullivan has been a member of law enforcement for over 20 years, and has been the police chief for the towns of Alexandria and Hill. Sullivan has experience in victim-centered, trauma-informed enforcement, investigation and prosecution of sexual assault and domestic violence cases.

School nurse Erin Stewart drove her car into the old Sears auto garage at the Steeplegate Mall where members of the National Guard stood ready to giver her one of the state’s first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Stewart, who works at Rundlett Middle School in Concord, was vaccinated as part of New Hampshire’s Phase 1 vaccine rollout, that prioritizes health care workers.
The process on Wednesday morning was smooth, Stewart said, with no waiting in line. The National Guard attendants who were running the process checked her in and asked a host health questions. A master sergeant in the Air National Guard administered the vaccine.

For Jen Massey, one of the best parts of teaching is seeing students expand their learning beyond the classroom, to projects that turn them into young entrepreneurs.
Massey has been teaching business at Pittsfield Middle High School for the last 10 years, after a 20-year career in accounting. She teaches classes that include personal finance, accounting, careers and marketing, and is an advisor to the student council, the Yearbook Club and the Future Business Leaders of America Club.
