Danny O’Brien confirmed today that three high-class
Lloyd Williams-owned stayers had not returned to his stable after competing last spring.
This comes as Williams reported today that his entire racing squad would be trained at
Macedon Lodge under the care of Robert Hickmott, who had been Williams’ private trainer from 2009 until Hickmott went out on his own with a Caulfield stable in 2017.
Hickmott has continued to use Macedon Lodge for time to time, with imported horse Schabau and Django Freedman.
Hickmott had trained Williams Melbourne Cup winners Green Moon (2012) and Almandin (2016).

Two Group 1 placings from just a handful of opportunities at the elite level have kept the fire burning for Zac Spain, who will ride Streets Of Avalon in the $500,000 G1 Neds C.F. Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
The 24-year-old took the opportunity last year to return to his home state of South Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic and in doing so finished second in the Australasian Oaks aboard Moonlight Maid and third when partnering Lyre in the Goodwood Handicap.
While any maiden G1 success would be special, there is no doubting when Spain takes the reins for the 25th time on Shane Nichols stable star on Saturday it will be a dream come true.
Dosh to chase the big bucks in Blue Diamond Stakes Posted by: Mediality Racing+ at 2:51pm on 25/1/2021
Exciting two-year-old filly Dosh will have her only run before the Blue Diamond Stakes when she starts in the Preview at Caulfield on Australia Day.
Her trainer Grahame Begg has examined the results of past Blue Diamond Stakes winners and says the best path to the Group One race for a filly is to run in either the Preview or the Prelude, but not both.
Begg has elected to start Dosh in the former and the winner of her only start in the Ottawa Stakes at Flemington on Oaks day will return in the 1000 metre Blue Diamond Preview on Tuesday.
Mystic Journey became the shortest priced favourite to be rolled at Mowbray for many years when she kicked off her All Star Mile campaign with a second placing at $1.10 in the Ladbrokes Stakes.
