The former Bigg Boss 14’s contestant and a prominent TV show producer Vikas Gupta is a popular Indian television industry name. He started his producing career with Balaji productions. BUFFALO, N.Y. As a University at Buffalo undergraduate, Rohan Shah joined with fellow UB students to begin building an educational technology company.
That startup’s first product Classavo is now serving college students and professors nationwide, providing cutting-edge tools for online education in the midst of a pandemic. And Shah and fellow UB alumnus Huy Duc Pham have been named to the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for education.
“Every opportunity I have, I want to empower and motivate students to follow their passion, to believe in themselves. It’s been hard, but I have met so many cool people and learned so much in such a short time,” says Shah, CEO of interactiveX, the company that created Classavo. He graduated from UB in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in business.
Over a handful of Indian Americans and South Asian-origin individuals were recognized by Forbes as individuals who are bringing access and opportunity to the classroom and beyond in naming its 10
th Annual â30 Under 30â list for the Education category. (Individuals named in other categories have been published in separate stories in India-West.)
Named among the 30 were Kehkashan Basu, Rohan Shah, Aditya Kaddu, Danish Dhamani, Paritosh Gupta and Aasim Sani.
Basu, 20, is the founder of Green Hope Foundation.
In 2012, when she was 12 years old, Dubai-born Basu founded the Green Hope Foundation in Toronto, where she lives.
The all-volunteer nonprofit has worked with 100,000 young people in 16 countries including India, the UAE and Liberia. Green Hope s goal is to teach and implement the UN s sustainable development goals through events and grassroots action like tree planting.
