While motorcycle fatalities decreased on local Ontario Provincial Police-patrolled roads in 2020 over 2019, they nearly doubled across the province.
The provincial force reported that in 2019, 27 motorcyclists were killed on the roadways they patrol, while in 2020 that number was 42. So far in 2021, there have been four deaths.

The OPP said 37 of the 42 fatalities in 2020 involved no other vehicles, and 20 of them involved riders between the ages of 55 and 74.
