The Chairperson of the Turf Cutters and Contractors Association say the campaign to find a way for bog owners affected by a recent High Court decision to access turf on Bord na Mona lands will continue.
Politicians attended a meeting with the semi state company today where management stated that despite efforts over the last number of weeks, they could not find a way around the ban.
Politicians raised the possibility of people purchasing the land or forming a co-operative and therefore assuming all responsibilities was considered, but Bord na Mona say that would have be worked out though a stakeholders forum on milled peat which is underway at the moment.

Galway Bay FM Newsroom – Confirmation that Farmers will be able to return to Mart Rings from the 17th of May has been welcomed by Roscommon/Galway independent deputy Michael Fitzmaurice.
It has been reported in the Farmers Journal that Minister of Agriculture Charlie McConalogue has confirmed that buyers will be able to return to Mart rings from that date, while adhering to public guidelines.
Online trading will remain alongside ringside buying and a number of rules will apply.
Meanwhile, The department of Agriculture in Northern Ireland have also confirmed that farmers in Northern Ireland will be able to return from Monday.
Elphin based wife of engineer detained in Iraq calls for Government assistance

Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy is calling on the Government and the Minister for Foreign Affairs to intervene in the case of an Australian engineer and businessman who has been detained in Iraq with no explanation, and no contact allowed with his distraught wife and three children, who are Irish citizens, resident in Elphin, County Roscommon.
The Roscommon/Galway Senator is due to raise the issue in the Seanad this morning, Monday, April 26th.
Robert Pether, who is originally from Sydney, Australia was arrested on April 7th when he arrived at a meeting with his client, the Central Bank of Iraq, in Baghdad. Senator Murphy has been in touch with Mr Pether s wife, Desree and he is seeking intervention from the Irish Government and Minister for Foreign Affairs in a bid to have Mr Pether released.
