New lead prosecutor named in case of Ahmaud Arbery s death

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The deputy chief assistant district attorney for Cobb County has resigned.
Because of that, Cobb County District Attorney Flynn D. Broady, Jr. said Senior ADA Linda Dunikoski will step into the role of the lead prosecutor for the shooting death case of Ahmaud Arbery.
The district attorney said Dunikoski has worked on the case since it was appointed to the district.
Arbery was running through a Brunswick neighborhood in February 2020 when he was gunned down by two men who claimed they were trying to execute a citizen s arrest. The incident was caught on camera.

Opus Orchestra brings two short concerts to Rotorua for all ages

The central North Island s Opus Orchestra will perform two short concerts in Rotorua next month, featuring Margaret Mahy magic and encounters with composers.
The Opus Orchestra – the professional orchestra for Waikato and the Bay of Plenty – will then perform in Rotorua on Saturday, March 6.
The programme begins with an hour of Margaret Mahy magic for kids and their big people.
That is followed by a cocktail-hour encounter featuring work by some of New Zealand s foremost composers - Ross Harris, Gareth Farr and Martin Lodge – all of whom will be in attendance in each location.
Live Oak County entered 2021 with a steady eye on the past as well as the future, as the commissioners court appointed a new head of the Live Oak County Historical Commission.
Mary Margaret Campbell, who previously served as vice chair of the commission, was appointed chair of the  organization for the next two years.
She succeeds Ross Harrison, who served as chair for 2019 and 2020.
After serving as director of George West Storyfest for a decade and leading the Dobie Dichos program, which promotes the works and legacy of Texas author J. Frank Dobie, many in the area are well acquainted with Campbell.
