Size, intangibles and the ability to make a play on the ball in the air. If you’re looking for the three strengths of Sage Surratt as an NFL prospect, well there they are right there. The 6’ 3” receiver looks every bit the part of an NFL receiver and has the production to show for it, as during his last year at Wake Forest in 2019, he posted 1,001 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 66 catches. His biggest knock is that he lacks breakaway speed, yet he did quite a strong job against ACC competition in hauling in passes and gaining separation down the field. Surratt is probably a later-round prospect at this stage in the game, who can blossom into a solid starter.

The Coach: Pooka Williams Jr. (Kansas)

Pooka Williams Jr. may not be the biggest household name, considering he’s the running back from Kansas who opted out after just four games in 2020, but with blazing speed and amazing footwork, he might just be one of the draft’s most underrated players. He’s a runner with ridiculous lateral movements through the line of scrimmage that gets even more dangerous when he’s out in the flats. I think he’s a perfect fit at the next level as a speedy change-up back for any team, regardless of style.

Our favorite group of gunslingers in the 2021 NFL Draft class.

The Coach: Kyle Trask (Florida)

Despite Florida’s disastrous ending to the 2020 season, Kyle Trask is one heck of a quarterback prospect that checks just about every box for NFL scouts. The 6’ 5”, 240 pounder tossed for 43 touchdowns compared to just 8 interceptions, all while completing 68.9% of his passes for 4,283 yards on the year. What I like about Trask is that he’s done it all. He’s played the backup role. He’s become a starter. He’s endured ups, downs and middles in the SEC and he’s as tested as any gunslinger you’re going to find in the class.
