Two sheriff s deputies dismissed in violation of fraternization policy CHILLICOTHE- Two deputies in the corrections division of the Ross County Sheriff s Office were dismissed in early March due to fraternization with inmates, according to the Ross County Sheriff s Office.  Deputies Sarah Smith and Ashley Foster, both of which were in their first year at the Ross County Sheriff s Office, were dismissed after an investigation led to findings that the two deputies were violating the code of ethics for jail employees.  We had some information that we had a female employee who may be in communication with an inmate outside the scope of her duties   even while they were off-grounds through our phone system, said Major William White, Jail Administrator for the Ross County Sheriff s Office.

Jerry Souders, 48, of Jeffersonville, was arrested for drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

(Photo courtesy of the Ross County Sheriff s Office) A Leesburg man was sentenced Monday after being found guilty of all four charges in an indictment that included one count of attempted murder, according to the Chillicothe Gazette. As previously reported, Samuel Chapman, 41, of Leesburg was indicted by a Ross County grand jury May 8, 2020, where he was charged with one count of attempted murder, a felony of the first degree; one count of kidnapping, a felony of the first degree; one count of grand theft, a felony of the fourth degree; and one count of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree.
