Many civic organizations struggle to stay alive

LAGRANGE â Not all that many years ago, any motorists arriving in any number of small towns around northeast Indiana to communities such as LaGrange or Howe or Wolcottville, would have been greeted when they entered those towns by a welcome sign that included the names of most of the civic and fraternal organizations that also called that community home. From the Lions clubs to the Jaycees to Rotary, Kiwanis, Eagles, and Moose, many of those organizations once dominated the local philanthropic landscape. In the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, local social, civic and philanthropic organizations and clubs were at the heart of most communities, but many have disappeared, and most of those that remain are struggling to survive.

Covid: nel Lazio 112 casi, quattro decessi tutti a Roma - Lazio

(ANSA) - ROMA, 08 LUG - Oggi su oltre 8mila tamponi nel Lazio (-42) e oltre 13mila antigenici per un totale di oltre 21mila test, si registrano 112 nuovi casi positivi (+8), 4 decessi (-3), i ricoverati sono 139 (-5). I guariti sono 132, le terapie intensive sono 27 (-2). Il rapporto tra positivi e tamponi è allo 1,3% ma se consideriamo anche gli antigenici la percentuale scende allo 0,5%. I casi a Roma città sono a quota 83 . E quanto fa sapere l assessore alla Sanità del Lazio Alessio D Amato. Sul fronte vaccini sono state superate 5,7 milioni di dosi somministrate. E stato inoltre autorizzato il reclutamento di 153 medici d urgenza per i Pronto Soccorso.
