NEW DELHI: In another major development in the much-talked-about alleged TRP scam, the enforcement directorate (ED) today summoned certain officials in the top rungs of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).
Sources confirmed the news to Indiantelevision.com, stating that BARC India is complying with the investigative agencies completely and is willing to help them with any information they require.
Recently, former BARC CEO Partho Dasgupta was named the ‘mastermind’ behind the whole TRP racket, which was brought to light in October last year by the Mumbai police. It has been alleged that Dasgupta accepted monetary kickbacks from the owners of a top news media company in exchange for rigging viewership ratings.
