ESPN reports Jones will make up to $14.5 million, including $9.2 guaranteed. The receiver will rejoin familiar faces in Jaguars offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and new addition Jamal Agnew. Jones played the previous two seasons with Bevell as his offensive coordinator, catching 138 passes for 1,757 yards and 18 touchdowns in 29 games during that span.

Having previously agreed to swap quarterbacks in a deal that is set to become official at the start of the new league year Wednesday, the Rams are finalizing a deal to send veteran defensive lineman Michael Brockers to the Lions, NFL Network s Tom Pelissero reported. Los Angeles will receive a 2023 seventh-round pick from Detroit in return, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport added. On Wednesday, the Lions announced the deal was official. It s another swap involving new Lions general managers Brad Holmes and his old team, following the previous swap that sent Matthew Stafford to the Rams in exchange for Jared Goff plus draft picks that s set to become official on Wednesday upon the commencement of a new league year.

Detroit Lions sign DE Romeo Okwara to contract extension

Mar 17, 2021 at 04:05 PM Copied! Allen Park, Mich. The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed DE Romeo Okwara to a contract extension. Additional terms were not disclosed. Okwara posted career-highs in total tackles (44), tackles for loss (11), sacks (10.0), quarterback hits (18) and forced fumbles (three) in 2020, adding one fumble recovery, one safety, a blocked extra point and a blocked punt. He originally joined Detroit via waivers from the New York Giants in 2018, producing 7.5 sacks in his first season as a Lion. Okwara entered the NFL with the Giants in 2016, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. In 67 career games (28 starts), he has posted 135 total tackles, 20.0 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, 49 quarterback hits and five forced fumbles.
