Queensland has recorded zero new cases of coronavirus overnight, as Greater Brisbane enters day two of its three-day lockdown.
Key points:
Changes have been made to hotel quarantine protocol after the latest breach
New public health alerts have been issued for Greater Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has praised the efforts of locals, with only 20 active cases in the state, and more than 19,000 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.
The state gov has issued a list of specific venues a hotel worker visited while infected with COVID-19, urging anyone who has been impacted to get tested.
Australian outbreak of super-contagious UK coronavirus strain could send case numbers soaring and force states to slam borders shut - as a terrifying map shows where infected hotel cleaner could have spread it
Queensland cleaner in her 20s has been diagnosed with deadly mutant strain of Covid wreaking havoc on UK
Health authorities are desperately trying to trace the woman s recent contacts after Wednesday s diagnosis
She was out in the community for four days while infected before developing symptoms and getting tested
The cleaner is believed to have been infected around January 2 but initially tested negative on a routine check
A pre-cursor to the highly infectious mutant Covid strain which has devastated the UK, escaped Victoria s hotel quarantine system back in June, according to a leading Australian scientist.
But Professor Damian Purcell, head of the molecular virology laboratory at the Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity in Melbourne, said the public were not told about it because it might have spooked people.
Genomic testing suggests 37 people in the coronavirus-hit state were infected with the strain before Victoria s lengthy second lockdown helped to bring the variant under control.

A bobblehead, bouquets of flowers and a race car helmet were among the gifts given to Queensland politicians last year.
Former natural resources minister Anthony Lynham, now retired from politics, was given a bobblehead figurine and a leather baseball glove by the Brisbane Bandits, which he put on display.
AEG Ogden chairman Harvey Lister had three bouquets of flowers delivered to Queensland ministers.
Dr Lynham also declared gifts valued at $880 from mining company Meijin Group after he was bestowed two Chinese inlaid lacquer jewellery boxes and two red silk traditional Chinese outfits.
