Belarusian commodity exchange unveils fastest-growing export markets for sawn timber

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The United Kingdom and China were the fastest-growing export markets for sawn timber on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) in Q1 2021, BelTA learned from BUCE s Spokesman Roman Yaniv.
As much as 8,500 cubic meters of sawn timber worth over $2 million was sold to the UK market, which was a threefold increase in natural terms and a sixfold increase in monetary terms year-on-year. Sales to the Chinese market via BUCE also skyrocketed. In January-March 2021, Belarusian exporters sold to China 24,800 cubic meters of sawn timber worth $5.4 million, exceeding last year s figures by 1.5 and 2 times respectively.
EAEU exchanges to step up efforts to create common commodity markets

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Exchanges of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states intend to step up cooperation in creating common markets for energy, agricultural products, and other strategically important goods, both primary and manufactured. The relevant agreement was reached during a web-based meeting of the Committee on Commodity Markets at the International Association of Exchanges of CIS Countries (MAB CIS), BelTA learned from Spokesman of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) Roman Yaniv.
Taking part in the meeting were top managers of BUCE, Moscow Exchange, the Saint-Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, the Eurasian Trade System Commodity Exchange (Kazakhstan), Caspy Commodity Exchange (Kazakhstan), Uzbek Commodity Exchange, and Kyrgyz Stock Exchange.
In Q1 2021, the sum of export transactions in cement on BUCE equaled $10.2 million, which was a fivefold increase over January-March 2019. The main export market was Russia that accounted for over 90% of the total export.
Belarus, Russia s Kursk Oblast discuss plans to boost exchange trade

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – Ways to increase exchange trade between Belarus and Kursk Oblast of Russia have been discussed during an online conference, BUCE s Spokesman Roman Yaniv told BelTA.
Addressing the conference, head of the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) Grigory Ginsar noted that exchange trade is a great way to increase trade between Belarus and Kursk Oblast and invited Kursk entrepreneurs to make the most of this mechanism. According to the BUCE representative, this year Russian companies began to actively use exchange trade, which pushed up the volume of transactions.
Belarusian commodity exchange reports soaring sales of seeds, plant protection agents

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – In January-March 2021, sales of seeds and plant protection agents on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) skyrocketed by 3.5 times year-on-year, BUCE s Spokesman Roman Yaniv told BelTA.
In January-March, the sum of transactions in seeds and plant protection agents on BUCE amounted to Br66.5 million, up 3.5 times over the same period of 2020. This surge in sales was attributed not only to the start of the sowing campaign, but also to the increase in the number of trading sessions participants, including many big agricultural enterprises that can spend several million rubles during a trading session.
