Man knocked unconscious after attack in York Road

A MAN in his 60s was knocked unconscious after being hit over the head in a violent attack in Southend. Police have launched an appeal after they were called to reports of a man being knocked unconscious on June 14. The victim had left a pub near to Southend Street shortly after 10pm. He was attacked and left unconscious as he crossed Baltic Avenue while walking along York Road. The victim did not see anyone near them just before they were attacked or just after. Martin Terry, councillor in charge of community safety has condemned this type of violent behaviour in Southend.
