CHURCH BRIEFS

CHURCH BRIEFS St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Although there is a plethora of resources for worship and self-examination during Lent online and in print from many different sources, this year our Worship committee decided to create our own St. Mark’s Lenten Calendar. It was a bit of a challenge, but also a rewarding task. There are readings suggested from the Gospel of Mark, virtual opportunities for worship and study, actions to act on one’s faith, and questions to help explore your spiritual life. For example: • The Gospel readings are paired with questions about one’s personal reaction to the passage such as “How would you react if you were there?”

When Disney Got Weird | The Saturday Evening Post

Join Despite how glamorous or easy it might look from the outside, the business of film is a constant challenge. And while a company like Disney might seem like a colossus today, there are a number of times when the future or direction of the studio was in question. Perhaps the strangest period was in the late 1970s and the early 1980s. Woo!

I had prepared myself to make a major financial outlay, but the service fees were well worth the convenience of deferring the entire payment. Coincidentally, I was siting on said sofa this morning and considering that transaction when Alex Wilhelm submitted a column that compared recent earnings for three BNPL providers: Afterpay, Affirm and Klarna. I asked him why he decided to dig into the sector with such gusto.
