CRG trying to boost business through agriculture | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com GLOVERSVILLE The Fulton County Center for Regional Growth is trying to boost business and job creation through agriculture. In a recent CRG board meeting, agency President and CEO Ron Peters said agriculture efforts continue. “We’re still competing for an agricultural site,” he said. Peters told his board that the CRG is actively looking for a site for an agricultural development project. In other unfinished business, Peters said the CRG advised the New York State Job Development Authority that the agency is ready to move forward with a agriculture loan program. Last fall, the CRG was approved by the JDA as a lender through its JDA Agriculture Program for six counties Fulton, Hamilton, Essex, Warren, Saratoga and Washington counties.

Apr 29, 2021 GLOVERSVILLE The Fulton County Center for Regional Growth has released portal information for businesses interested in applying for Restaurant Revitalization Fund money. The CRG release indicated the Small Business Administration announced opening of a Restaurant Revitalization Fund application portal for advance registration and application acceptance. According to CRG President/CEO Ron Peters, the portal at restaurants.sba.gov opens at 9 a.m. Friday, April 30, for account creation. The portal opens for applications at noon Monday, May 3, also at restaurants.sba.gov. The release said that for the first 21 days that the program is open, the SBA will prioritize funding applications from businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. (The Leader-Herald/Michael Anich) JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Center for Regional Growth is currently promoting the county’s business facilities in a major marketing initiative. The effort was discussed by CRG officials at a recent meeting of the Board of Supervisors’ Economic Development & Environment Committee at the County Office Building. CRG Economic Development Specialist Ken Adamczyk said businesses are looking for 50,000 and 100,000 square foot facilities. He said the agency has also been marketing the Tryon Technology Park in Perth through a recent article.
