COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Senator Ronnie Cromer says there are three different versions of the South Carolina state flag at the State House. All feature the palmetto tree and crescent moon, but with slight variations. Senator Cromer has pre-filed a bill that calls for a uniform design for the South Carolina state flag.
Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center s former President/CEO, Otis B. Rawl Jr. was awarded the Order of the Palmetto at the Chamberâs breakfast meeting Tuesday morning.
The Order of the Palmetto is the stateâs highest civilian honor. It is awarded to citizens of South Carolina for extraordinary lifetime service and achievements of national or statewide significance.
âThe Lexington Chamber and Lexington County have benefitted from Rawlâs leadership,â said Chamber President/CEO Angelle LaBorde. âOtis receiving this prestigious honor is reflective of the value of his decades of service and contributions to our state.â
Notable South Carolinians including Sen. Ronnie Cromer and Lou Kennedy, President & CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation, wrote letters in support of Rawlâs nomination.
