The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office is supporting the search efforts by volunteers following the sinking of the Seacor Power.
Sheriff Timothy Soignet tells KATC they ve been in the water since day one, initially assisting the Coast Guard.
Sheriff Soignet says, It can get pretty rough out there on the water. For that reason, his marine division has been working with the volunteers to keep them safe, answer questions and establish locations that have been cleared by patrols.

Follow-up On Overturned Boat Off Louisiana Coast
There were 19 crew members aboard the Seacor Power when the vessel capsized two weeks ago near Port Fourchon. Six people were rescued while, sadly, six have been confirmed dead and since the tragic event.
Search and rescue efforts continue, as locals found a new reason to hope to find more survivors. Over the weekend, volunteers found life vests in a marsh near Cocodrie labeled Seacor Power and are praying for a miracle of locating missing crew members.

Swamp Peopleposted a couple of videos on Facebook displaying the life jackets, hard hats, and other debris. Fingers crossed it s not just equipment that washed up on shore after the boat sank. We join them in prayer more survivors are found, and we ll keep you posted as well on the developing story.
Volunteers searching for the seven remaining missing Seacor crew members found eight life jackets and three hard hats yesterday. It is believed that these are items that could have been worn by the men on the power lift boat.
The items were discovered on Sunday while volunteers were searching the waters from Cocodrie to Fourchon and Whiskey Island.
Scott Daspit, the father of missing crew member Dylan Daspit of Lafayette, confirmed to KLFY that the items were brought to shore during ongoing search and rescue efforts.
The United Cajun Navy took to Facebook last night to ask for more volunteers.
