Help make Rotary’s annual auction a success with your donation
The Rotary Club of Footscray is seeking donations of items – ranging from vouchers to collectibles – for their annual dinner and auction.
Hosted in conjunction with the biennial Footscray Art Prize, a national visual art prize, the event features an intimate viewing of the Footscray Art Prize exhibition, three course meal, and an exciting auction where dinner attendees bid on donated items.
Previous auctioned items have included original artworks, boxes of wine, and a consultation with an architect.
All proceeds from the ticket sales and auction go towards the Rotary’s youth program in Footscray. This includes sponsoring the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and sponsoring local student attendance at:
Despite the obstacles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pleasanton North Rotary managed to raise more than $7,000 for youth programs during its sixth annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn Family Fun Run over the Thanksgiving holiday.
This yearâs Turkey Burn drew 225 registered participants who planned their own runs, walks, or strolls with family members or small groups of friends in the Tri-Valley area, according to Michael Cherman, who chaired the Rotary organizing committee.
The 2019 Tri-Valley Turkey Burn at Ken Mercer Sports Park in Pleasanton drew nearly 2,000 registered participants.
âIt was hard to predict what it would be like to go virtual, but we still had a lot of positive feedback from our runners and walkers,â Cherman said. âThe spirit of the Turkey Burn lived on.â

The Scholars of the Month for September, October, and November have been chosen for East Liverpool High School.
The Scholar of the Month for September is Abigail DeLong. Abigail is ranked #1 in her class with a 4.0 GPA, she is a five-year member of the ELHS band, serving as brass captain and historian. Abbey is also a four-year member of the swim, track, soccer, and cross country teams, advancing to regionals in Cross Country. In addition, Abbey is a member of Tri-M National Music Honor Society, Booster Club, Thespian Troupe 319, Outdoor Adventure Club, and the National Honor Society. She won the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, has served as Class President for three years, and was selected as a delegate to Buckeye Girls’ State.
