Nigel Nichols, 35-year-old Boston man serving life sentence for 2009 Rhode Island double murder, faces new charges in 2011 killing Updated Feb 10, 2021; A Boston man, who is in the midst of serving multiple life sentences for a 2009 double murder in Providence, Rhode Island, is now facing new charges in connection with an unsolved killing 10 years ago in the same city, according to authorities. A Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging 35-year-old Nigel Nichols, who previously lived in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, with 10 felony counts stemming from the 2011 killing of Steven Latimer, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced Tuesday.

2 Providence men sentenced to prison in straw gun buying scheme Brian Amaral, The Providence Journal © The Providence Journal staff Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha Two Providence men were sentenced to prison after admitting their roles in a scheme to funnel firearms to people who couldn’t legally have them, the attorney general said. Theodore Braxton and Ralph Gbaie, both 31, pleaded no contest last week in Providence County Superior Court, according to Attorney General Peter Neronha.  According to Neronha’s office, both men participated in a scheme to buy guns from D&L Shooting Supplies in Warwick and sell them to people who were prohibited from having them.
