Election Petition: Rojo Mettle-Nunoo testifies via zoom with a judicial officer by him FEB 5, 2021 Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, the third witness for the petitioner, former President John Mahama, in the ongoing election petition is giving his testimony via video conferencing application Zoom at the Supreme Court. This is as a result of a reported ill-health thereby compelling him to give testimony during cross-examination. He will be cross-examined by the lawyers for the Electoral Commission (first respondent) and the president (Second respondent). Throughout the trial, this is the first time a witness is giving testimony via live video. Election Petition: They Have Disappointed Their Party - Charles Owusu On Mahama s Witnesses

  Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu has expressed disappointment in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over their election petition before the Supreme Court. The petition which was filed by the party s 2020 Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, challenges the validity of the Presidential election verdict. The ongoing court proceedings have seen two witnesses for former President John Mahama testifying against the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa. The petitioner has however had some of his applications dismissed by the Supreme Court Justices. His application to serve the EC Chairperson with interrogatories and a review application were all dismissed by the court.

The Supreme Court (SC) has struck out some portions of Rojo Mettle Nunoo s witness statement. The paragraphs are 4,5,6,7 and 18 out of 23 requested by lead counsel for President Nana Akufo-Addo, the first respondent,  Akoto Ampaw. The remaining paragraphs have been maintained. Cross-examination of Rojo Mettle Nunoo will take place on Monday remotely via video link. Meanwhile, two witnesses of the petitioner: Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and Dr Kpessa-Whyte have already been cross-examined.

Election Petition: How EC officials misled Rojo Mettle-Nunoo into signing collation sheets

One of Mahama’s witnesses to be cross-examined today Robert Joseph (Rojo) Mettle-Nunoo, one of the representatives of the petitioner in the ongoing Election Petition at the ‘strongroom’ of the Electoral Commission (EC), has disclosed that he was misled by some officials at the EC office to sign collation sheets which were certified by his party’s polling agents. In his witness statement submitted to the Supreme Court on Thursday, February 4, Rojo Mettle-Nunoo indicated that he found out from his party officials at the party’s headquarters that the figures presented on the signed documents were not what had been collated.
