Cocaine in prunes intercepted at TTPost in Piarco 3 Hrs Ago The head office of Trinidad and Tobago Postal Service (TTPOST), Golden Grove Road, Piarco. - Photo by Roger Jacob Vigilant staff at TTPost in Piarco alerted the Customs officer on duty on Wednesday after becoming suspicious of a package of prunes destined for the United States. The officer dissected the package and saw what appeared to be cocaine coming from one of the prunes, which was examined. Officers from the Preventive Branch of the Customs and Excise Division were called in and the package was seized. A senior official at TTPost complimented the staff on their alertness in deeming the package suspicious. He said this level of scrutiny is consistent with TTPost operating standards and that the package would have gone through a further examination at the facilities of the international courier company that was destined to take the package to the US.
