Rochester Man Preparing For Start of His Murder Trial Next Month Get our free mobile app Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the men charged with the murder of a Rochester man a little over two years ago appeared remotely for a pretrial hearing today in Olmsted County Court. 32-year-old Muhidin Omar Abukar is currently scheduled to stand trial beginning May 3rd on a second-degree murder charge stemming from the March 5, 2019 shooting death of 28-year-old Garad Roble. He was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds on a rural southeast Rochester road just east of the Shoppes on Maine complex.

The jury has found 57-year-old Scott Ramey guilty of first and third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The trial began on Monday in Olmsted County Court and the verdict was issued Wednesday afternoon. Ramey was arrested in January after a 20-year-old homeless woman told police that Ramey approached her at Central Park in downtown Rochester in November and took her to a storage shed near Cooke Park he used for shelter after allegedly showing her a gun, a knife, and a can of mace. The woman told investigators that Ramey raped her later that day and on 7 other occasions during the next several weeks.
