ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) On Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that New York State’s mandatory quarantine for domestic travelers entering the state will be dropped on April 1.
Spring break week for most Rochester-area school districts is Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2. News10NBC has received several questions about what the loosened quarantine restrictions could mean for people who are traveling when the new guidelines go into effect on April 1.
A good rule of thumb: go off of the date you arrive in New York State, not the day you departed.
If you arrive in New York from domestic travel on or after April 1, you will not be required to quarantine, and you will also not be required to present a negative COVID-19 test.
