ROANOKE, Va. – Authorities are warning the public about the discovery of rabid raccoons near the Roanoke River Greenway in Southeast Roanoke.
PLAY Roanoke took to Facebook to urge people to be safe when in public. Here are some tips it provided to help prevent the spread of rabies:
Call 911 if you spot a raccoon acting oddly, foaming at the mouth and acting disoriented.
Do not approach wildlife.
