RECENTLY, THEY FOUND A DOCUMENT, STRONG EVIDENCE JOHNS HOPKINS, THE FOUNDING DONOR OF JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY AND JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL, OWNED SLAVES AT HIS BALTIMORE HOME IN 1840 AND 1850, AND HIS FAMILY HAD AN EXTENSIVE RELATIONSHIP TO SLAVE HOLDING. THE HOPKINS COMMUNITY ANNOUNCED THE FINDINGS IN A VIDEO POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
