KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. - The site of the first flight is a part of history once again.
On Tuesday, the National Park Service and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are joining at Wright Brothers National Memorial to announce the first-ever trial of a self-driving vehicle on recreational public lands in the U.S.
The Connected Autonomous Shuttle Supporting Innovation (CASSI) will be the subject of a pilot program featuring a self-driving public transit shuttle.
The three-month program aims to test the effectiveness and safety of driverless vehicles.

Eight Named to UM Grizzly of the Last Decade Honors
The University of Montana Alumni Association selected eight graduates of of the last 10 years as winners of the the 2021 Grizzly of the Last Decade Awards. They are selected because of early career success and the potential for bright futures.
The Alumni Association listed the winners and their accomplishments:
Brooke Andrus is a 2010 journalism graduate, who joined the Phoenix-based WebPT, dealing with health software for outpatients. She was recently promoted to senior manager of content marketing, which won the 2020 CEO World Awards for Communications.
Kevin Brockbank has UM bachelor s and master s degrees and, most recently in 2017, a doctorate in educational leadership. He was first at Helena College and then was dean at Salt Lake Community College for two years before becoming president of Spokane Community College in 2017 and was named to the Aspen Institute of New Presidents Fellowship.

Just being able to successfully hover off the ground will be a huge victory for the Ingenuity helicopter.
Back when people used to take vacations more regularly, one of my most favorite trips my wife and I took was down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Exploring the quaint seaside towns of Duck, Corolla, Kill Devil Hills and the surrounding area was both relaxing and exciting at the same time. We also discovered the most wonderful fried chicken and meatball pizza on Earth, which was an unexpected surprise.
