  It all started in July 2019 when I decided to transfer to Angelo State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mass media. Prior to transferring, I heard about the Ram Fam and how Angelo State University provides a variety of opportunities to students. As I am writing this article with graduation looming, I am able to look back at my experience I had at ASU and can now say that my decision to transfer here ended up being the right choice. When it is all said and done, the college experience is truly what students make of it. Getting involved is the best advice I can give to other students. As a mass media major, I decided to get involved with media-related organizations.

  English writer and playwright Agatha Christie once said that “the science of tomorrow is the supernatural of today.” Like many institutions and places, Angelo State University has been the home of a metaphysical legend that has created believers and skeptics out of the ASU community for nearly four and a half decades. On April 27, 1978, yearbook photographer Robert Mark Wagner murdered freshman Leandra Morales with a pair of scissors in what is now the Hardeman Student Services Center building. According to a 1978 Ram Page article, the two Air Force ROTC students were in the photo development room when Wagner began to kiss Morales. According to San Angelo Standard-Times archives, Morales spurned his advances and attempted to force him away before she was killed by her fellow student. Wagner then proceeded to drag the body of Morales throughout the halls and rapped up the bloody scissors in a copy of the campus newspaper in an effort to hide his deed. The article the

When I started writing this I, like many of you, could not even begin to imagine how the world ended up where it currently is. When the New Year’s countdown ended and ushered in the beginning of 2020, the last things I had on my mind were daily wellness checks, working out with a mask or second guessing myself every time I look for the directional arrows at the grocery store.
