PESHAWAR: Vowing to resist the government decision to change the name of Nawaz Sharif Kidney Centre in Swat, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter on Sunday termed the move biased, which would have repercussions. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had not established the kidney hospital through government funds. The Rs700 million was arranged from Punjab Hospitals Trust funds while Rs50 million was donated by Ishaq Dar from his own pocket, PML-N KP president Amir Muqam told a press conference here.
He said why Imran Khan had named Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre after his late mother instead of any national hero, he posed a question to challenge the rationale behind the government s move.

LONDON: In a preliminary hearing of a defamation case brought by the former special assistant to the prime minister, Zulfi Bukhari, against PM’s former wife and journalist Reham Khan, a UK judge determined the meaning of the content at the centre of the suit.
The judge found during the hearing that the words and material disseminated by Ms Khan amounted to a chase level 1 imputation. As determined by the judge, this means the defamatory words would be understood by an “ordinary reasonable reader” as actual guilt on the part of Mr Bukhari. If the case goes to trial, Ms Khan would be expected to substantiate her allegations against Mr Bukhari.

LONDON: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s former special assistant for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari has won the first round of defamation case against Reham Khan, the broadcaster and former wife of PM Imran Khan.
