NEW YORK Trevor Bauer s administrative leave was extended by seven days through July 15 by Major League Baseball and the players association on Thursday while the sport s investigators check into allegations of sexual misconduct against the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.
Bauer was placed on seven days paid leave on July 2 under the joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy adopted by MLB and the players’ union in 2015. The paid leave has been repeatedly extended for players in the past while investigations proceed.

NEW YORK Trevor Bauer’s administrative leave was extended by seven days through July 15 by Major League Baseball and the players’ association on Thursday while the sport’s investigators check into allegations of sexual misconduct against the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.
Bauer was placed on seven days’ paid leave on July 2 under the joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy adopted by MLB and the players’ union in 2015. The paid leave has been repeatedly extended for players in the past while investigations proceed.
Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer was placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball on July 2 according to the joint domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy and program, pending an investigation by the league.
A temporary restraining order was filed against Bauer in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 29, stemming from two sexual encounters in April and May, with a hearing is set for July 23.
Bauer’s agents Jon Fetterolf and Rachel Luba have refuted the allegations in the restraining order.
Bauer is under investigation by the Pasadena police department. MLB has the authority to suspend Bauer whether or not he is arrested or charged with a crime. Since the league’s domestic violence policy was enacted in 2015, the seven players placed on administrative leave were all suspended, with a minimum of 20 games and an average of 62 games among the group.
