ESCONDIDO    The driver and passenger killed in a crash just west of the Lawrence Welk Resort on April 2 have been identified as Andrew Manriquez Alarcon, 17, and Hugo Alfredo Ramirez Ramirez, 19, both of Vista. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Ramirez Ramirez was the driver of a sedan that was traveling at a high speed when it went off the road in a rural unincorporated area north of Escondido. The car was discovered several hundred feet down a steep ravine off of Lawrence Welk Court west of Interstate 15. Alarcon was a passenger in the front seat of the car.
