Washoe County saw fewer cases for the first seven days of January but health officials cautioned that the decrease was a function of testing frequency. “It is an ‘actual’ decline of cases reported to WCHD due to decreased number of people seeking tests,” the Washoe County Health District said in response to a query by the Reno Gazette-Journal. “This decline does not represent (or) reflect the true disease burden in the community.”
