Gardnerville native Leah Withrow became the only female head groundskeeper in Minor League Baseball Monday.
Withrow has been working with the Reno Aces as an assistant groundskeeper since 2018 after graduating from North Dakota State University.

“This promotion feels surreal and I haven’t even fully digested what this means. I’ve watched and learned almost everything I know from the previous two groundskeepers and they both left pretty big shoes to fill, and not just because they’re men’s shoes,” said Withrow, in a press release from the club. “I hope this shows girls and women that any position is open. Just because you’ve only ever seen a man hold that position doesn’t mean that if you work hard enough and want it bad enough that it can’t be yours. Every job is open to anyone as long you prove yourself to be the best suited and I l
Dbacks seek moves at trade deadline; ex-Aces update Ex-Reno Ace Robbie Ray could be on the block as the Aug. 31 deadline nears.

The up-and-down Arizona Diamondbacks might make some moves again at the Aug. 31 MLB trade deadline.
Midway through the shortened 60-game MLB season, the Diamondbacks are last in the National League West Division at 13-18. Arizona had a season-best six game winning streak from Aug. 12-18, but have tumbled in the standings with a season-worst seven game losing streak.
Plagued by offensive inconsistency and pitching struggles, the Dbacks may be active on the trade market. Last season, Diamondbacks General Manager Mike Hazen made substantial moves at the deadline, shipping ace pitcher Zack Greinke to the Houston Astros and trading its former top prospect, shortstop Jazz Chisholm, to the Miami Marlins for pitcher Zac Gallen.

After having reviewed our Dominican D-Backs, we stay south of the American border and visit México (
Liga

Profesional) to take a look at those other potential major league players of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Again, if you think we missed out on someone in those leagues or in other winter leagues (Australia, Nicaragua, Panama.), share it in the comments and we will look into them.
Data were reviewed up till 12/23/2020.
Miguel Aguilar, LHP, Yaquis de Obregón (LMP, Mexico)
DOB: 09/26/1991
Status: Assigned to AAA (Reno Aces)
The earliest notion I could find of Mexican Miguel Aguilar was 2012, when he appeared as a relief pitcher for the Vaqueros de Laguna in the Mexican LMB, unaffiliated Triple A. At one time he made a switch to the Leones de Yucatán and after two strong seasons pitching to a 2.14 and 2.08 ERA, he was signed by the Diamondbacks in 2016, at 25 years of age.

Once the MLB wraps up and crowns the World Series winner, south of the American border winter leagues start to prepare for baseball in the off-season.
The reasons to play in the winter leagues vary a lot. You have players that just want to stay in shape and visit their homes, like a Vlad Guerrero Jr., and others that desperately try to showcase themselves to get back to an MLB organization somehow, like Neftalí Feliz. And then you have those that try to get in some competitive at bats to make up for a lost season, like Steven Souza Jr. or Nate Lowe.
