If you are a Seattle native, you’ve watched the Eastside develop into a bustling area with its own identity. However, if you are a transplant, the term “I live in Seattle” means anywhere in or around Seattle’s actual city.
The mystery triangle at Trail Crossing
A relic of World War II bomber training remains on the Crooked River National Grassland
A mysterious triangle is visible from Google Earth on land administered by Crooked River National Grassland just north of Trail Crossing.
The triangle is quite large, measuring nearly 950 feet on a side. Only a few were aware that the structure was there. It was even a mystery about why it was there and what its purpose was.
The site dates to World War II when Redmond and Madras had Army Air Force Flight training. Redmond was used to train pilots and crew of B-17 bombers and P-48 fighters.

As if the process of purchasing a home were not tricky enough, selecting a neighborhood requires a balancing of many essential factors.
At the top of the list of neighborhood decision factors is the question about local public schools. In general, the Seattle area is fortunate in its number of high-quality school districts.
According to the U.S. News & World Report’s current ratings, the top three school districts within Washington state for college readiness are Mercer Island (58%), Bellevue (55.8%) and Lake Washington (35.6%). While these three are standouts, a few other school districts deserve additional attention. These include Shoreline (20.9%), Issaquah (19.3%) and Seattle Public Schools (14.8%) specifically.
