JOHANNESBURG - The Public Servants Association (PSA) said that if government refused to give workers an increase of more than 7%, it would bring the country to a standstill.
Government said that there was no money for salary hikes.
But the PSA, which represents more than 235,000 public sector employees, said that it will act by Friday if its demands were not met.
They believe maybe we are just playing games or cards.
And to make matters worse, the PSA says the department is ignoring its pleas for daily public advisories indicating when systems are down or off so that people don t waste time and money travelling to Home Affairs offices for nothing.
At a Johannesburg office on 5 April, he said, a man pushed a civic services supervisor when he was told that the system was offline and that he should return the next day. He slapped him on the chest, Maleka said.
Incidents
There were also two incidents in KwaZulu-Natal – in Port Shepstone and at the Umgeni Road office in Durban.
