Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani
RAJKOT: Ahead of the civic polls, chief minister Vijay Rupani laid foundation stones and inaugurated developed projects worth Rs 433 crore in his hometown Rajkot on Thursday. On January 1, he had inaugurated 100 small and micro projects on a single day.
The projects inaugurated on Thursday are being developed by Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) in the city’s periphery.
While reiterating his commitment towards developing infrastructure projects in Rajkot, Rupani also announced allotting Rs 205 crore fund to Rajkot under Swarnim Jayanti Shehri Vikas Yojna and Rs 33 crore under Mukyamantri Shehri Sadak Yojna.

MUMBAI: The NCP on Wednesday targeted the BJP over the Gujarat government s decision to rename dragon fruit as Kamalam , saying the time may not be far when the saffron party would start calling the country as Kamalastan . The BJP has now started branding itself on fruits also, NCP chief spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said in a statement.
