• The Howell Alliance and the Howell Police Department are participating in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the Howell Police Department, 300 Old Tavern Road, Howell. Residents may bring their unwanted, unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs to the anonymous drop-off, no questions asked. Remove or black out names from prescription bottles. • Area residents are invited to join The Allentown Village Initiative for a few hours of “spring cleaning” to clean up the community and celebrate Earth Day. All are welcome to participate on April 24 beginning at 9 a.m. Register at https://www.allentownvinj.org/ to pitch in at a location convenient to you, anywhere in Allentown or Upper Freehold Township. Individuals and groups will be assigned areas of their choice and
free supplies will be provided.
• The Millstone Township Environmental Commission will hold the 2021 stream cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon April 17. The event is sponsored by Millstone Township and the Watershed Institute. Volunteers will meet at the municipal court building, 255 Millstone Road, and head out to collect trash from around the community. • The American Red Cross continues to urge healthy individuals, especially those with type O blood, to give blood to ensure hospitals can meet patient needs.
